Bill Hemmer was born on November 14, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bill is the son of William who is a retired executive of a mattress manufacturing – company. And Georganne who is a homemaker. He is the middle child and second son of Hemmer’s Five children. Hemmer did his schooling from Our Lady of Victory (Cincinnati) Catholic parochial school. Also, he graduated from Elder High School in Cincinnati in the year 1983. In his Senior year, Hemmer and his friend started a radio program. They played fifteen minutes of music before his classes began. Bill credits this time as the beginning of his interest on broadcasting.
Hemmer got his degree in Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from Miami University which is located in Oxford, Ohia. Bill joined the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. It was when he was at Miami University and studied in Europe at The Miami University Dolibois European Centre. When Bill was still in his university, he became a Disc jockey intern for Mama Jazz at WMUB-FM. After then, he switched to WOXY-FM. It was a big decision for him especially since the station is known to be the first alternative music station in America.
