One of the two guys who were assaulted at a bus stop in the downtown area of Portland last month at approximately 8:30 pm has sadly gone away as a result of the injuries he sustained in the incident.
Donald A. Pierce, 82 years old, reportedly died away in the hospital on Thursday night, according to a statement that was provided by the Portland police department on Tuesday. After conducting an autopsy, the Office of the Medical Examiner determined that his death was the result of a murder caused by blunt force trauma.
Officers from the city of Portland were sent to the area in response to a separate complaint when they came upon the assault and arrested Keffer White, who was 29 years old. After knocking both of them to the ground, White allegedly continued to strike and kick each of them many times.

According to information released by the Portland Police Department on Tuesday, the 82-year-old man who was the victim of an unprovoked assault on June 25 at a bus stop located close to Portland State University has passed away.
On July 7, Donald Pierce passed away from injuries sustained from blunt force. This occurred around two weeks after he and Edward Lichtenstein, who was 88 years old, were attacked at 8:30 p.m. between Southwest 5th Avenue and Hall Street.
Keffer White, the person who is suspected of attacking the two elderly men, is already detained and facing four charges as a result of the alleged attack. These charges include two counts of Attempted Murder in the First Degree, one offense of Assault in the First Degree, and one count of Assault in the Second Degree. Keffer White is currently being held in jail. More charges are highly possible.
Before Pierce passed away, prosecutors filed four charges against White, including two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault in the first and second degrees. According to the records filed with the court on July 6, he entered a plea of not guilty to all of the claims.
According to the authorities, there will be more charges brought. After receiving treatment, Liechtenstein was eventually released from the hospital.
The next time White is set to appear in court is on July 15, according to the documents filed in the case.
