Dan Walker spent his first eight years of schooling in Crawley at Ifield Primary School, Three Bridges Middle School, and Hazelwick Secondary School. He earned his BA (Hons) in history from the University of Sheffield in 1998 and his MA in journalism studies from the same institution in 1999. Walker claims to be a faithful Christian. Interning at Sheffield’s Hallam FM, Walker got his start in the industry. He gained work experience after winning a competition for young sports commentators. Walker made the switch to a full-time employment after a four-year stint as a sports presenter and analyst for Manchester’s Key 103 radio station in 1999.
