Davich, a photojournalist who worked for the organization for more than ten years, went unexpectedly over the weekend while on a reporting assignment, according to a statement that was posted by the station on Tuesday. The statement added that Davich had gone away.

Since 1994, he had worked as a photographer for television stations such as KTVU, KGO, and KRON. His page also states that he was a member of the Television Photographers Association. Both Jim Huntington, the assignment manager at KGO, and Hal Eisner, a veteran news reporter in Los Angeles who had known Davich for over 20 years, were among those who publicly lamented Davich’s demise after learning of his death.

On Facebook, Eisner stated of the deceased man, “He was passionate about his career, his friends, and his community.” Mike, who had previously served in the United States Army, even gave his time to work as a uniformed officer for the Pleasanton Police Department.

Huntington said in a statement that was sent to Eisner that “Mike was an important part of the news team.” When I had queries over the two-way radio, he was always very helpful and had a great deal of experience shooting from the helicopter. Mike was well-known not just in the business world but also across the Bay Area. It seemed as if he was familiar with everyone and everything. The news has a devastating effect on people.
