According to the Police Regional Office 5, the body of Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya, who had previously served as a legislator for Camarines Sur, was found in his room early on Thursday morning.
In a statement, the regional office said, “Initial information revealed that he was found dead inside his room at Andaya’s Residence, Saint Jude Orchard Subdivision, Concepcion Grande, Naga City at about 7:00 in the morning today, June 30, 2022.”
His children Ranton and Katrina made the announcement earlier in a message that was posted on the official Facebook page of their father, Andaya.
Rolando “Nonoy” G. Andaya, Jr., our father and a former member of the House of Representatives, passed away unexpectedly this morning, June 30, 2022, as stated in the post. “With tremendous loss and sadness, we announce the untimely passing of our father,” the post read.
“We request for your ardent prayers for his ultimate repose, and to allow us, his family, to grieve privately for our loss,” the statement continued. “Thank you for your consideration in this matter.”
His family has not commented on the circumstances surrounding his passing at this time.
Andaya was beaten for the position of governor in Camarines Sur in the most recent elections held in May by Luigi Villafuerte, who is the son of Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte, who is running for reelection as a representative for Camarines Sur’s second district.
