Lucy attended St. Paul’s school in London, and after receiving her diploma, she attended Lancaster University to study Theatre and Sculpture. Similarly, when she was still in college, she began attending Bristol Old Vic Theatrical School and National Youth Theater, where she received her first theater instruction. In 1992, Lucy started her acting career by starring in the drama film A Masculine Ending. In the movie, she played the part of a Student. Later that year, as a result of her exceptional performance, she was immediately cast in a number of television programs, including Dwarf, Screaming, Spatz, Boon, The Blackheath Poisonings, etc., by a number of renowned Hollywood directors and producers.

Then, in 1993, Lucy played Marley in the television film Unnatural Causes, which was written by Peter Buckman.
