BetMakers Technology Group recently completed an oversubscribed Share Purchase Plan (SPP).
The SPP received valid applications worth $1.2 million, more than the company’s initial $1m target. This comes just weeks after the firm announced a $12.5m institutional placement, bringing the total capital raised to a mouth-watering $13.7m.
BetMakers will use the funds to repay debts, explore other tech innovations and expand their global footprint into the United States market.
The firm was recently appointed as one of five authorised wholesalers of Australian Thoroughbred Racing Materials under Racing Australia’s newly introduced national distribution network.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, BetMakers is ranked as one of the most successful providers of business-to-business (B2B) wagering tech in the world.
The company supports licensed betting operators in more than 30 countries, including Australia. Their innovative tech is used by the many of the sportsbooks featured on comparison site AustralianBettingSites and is highly rated by their team of wagering experts.
The site provides detailed reviews about established and new betting apps in Australia and their recognition of platforms which integrate BetMakers’ technology speaks volumes about the company.
With additional offices in numerous other betting jurisdictions worldwide, BetMakers is deservedly rated as a key driver of innovation in racing and betting tech.
A Testament to the Confidence of the Shareholders
BetMakers’ SPP closed at the start of July, but the overwhelming response they received made it clear that investors and shareholders have complete faith in the company.
The tech powerhouse issued shares at $0.10 for every fully paid ordinary share. That is the same price as last month’s institutional placement, which generated a whopping $12.5m.
Encouraged by the high demand, BetMakers increased the SPP cap, although there was a minor scale-back of $2,500 based on shareholding and transaction history.
A total of 12 million new shares were successfully allotted and are expected to start trading on the ASX in July 2025. The shares will rank equally with existing ordinary shares.
BetMakers have made it clear that they want to expand their network into the US. One project that has caught their eye is the Las Vegas Dissemination Company. If they are successful, the acquisition will increase their presence in American racing and betting markets.
The company extended its gratitude to shareholders who made their capital gains possible, noting that the strong support will aid their long-term ambitions.
BetMakers also recently announced a partnership with Total Performance Data (TPD). The collaboration will result in BetMakers distributing TBD’s in-running odds to its network of international clients, giving punters around the world a chance to place wagers in real time.
Becoming Racing Australia’s Data Wholesaler
The capital raise is a major milestone for BetMakers, but it is just one of a series of long-term achievements that the company has checked off its bucket list.
BetMakers were recently appointed as an authorised data wholesaler for Racing Australia. The new deal places BetMakers in elite company as they become one of just five companies around the world trusted to distribute official data under Racing Australia’s new national framework.
The appointment gives BetMakers the green light to supply official, fully compliant data under a more transparent and standardised model.
Through BetMakers’ CoreAPI and managed trading APIs, operators, media businesses and content providers will be able to access official Racing Australia data across nominations, acceptances, trials, results and form.
With BetMakers in the mix, customers will get the most in-depth Australian racing data through one of the most trusted suppliers in the global racing and betting industry.
The way BetMakers layers data using proprietary tech is one of the reasons why they are at the top of the game. The company’s CoreAPI gives customers the free rein to use powerful tools such as Punting Form and Racelab, including the game-changing Racelab Live.
Racelab Live is designed to provide deep insights into real-time race performance, helping both operators and punters make smarter decisions in the world of sports betting.
Why the US Expansion is a Smart Move
With its financial base strengthened by the latest capital raise, BetMakers’ potential venture into the US is arguably the most exciting frontier for sports and racing wagering.
The market is vast, competitive and tech-hungry, making it the perfect platform for BetMakers to advertise their advanced wagering products and services.
If BetMakers can get their hands on the Las Vegas Dissemination Company, it would represent a bold step into American territory. The move would give the company access to a new client base and fresh betting circuits. It would also make BetMakers more popular as a provider of innovative wagering solutions.
More US states will likely join the sports betting bandwagon in the future. When that happens, the demand for trusted and flexible tech partners will increase, and BetMakers will be on hand to deliver.
